Lulu's journey began as a rescue cat and somehow led to becoming one of Thornton Park's most beloved personalities. His birthday has grown into something bigger, too.

Each May, neighbors, businesses, artists, students, and cat lovers come together for Lulu's Birthday Celebration & Fundraiser—a two-week community event supporting Thornton Park businesses while raising funds and awareness for local cat rescues.

At the heart of it all is The Lulu Passport, connecting the neighborhood through special experiences, with two big celebrations bringing everyone together.

May 8 - 22, 2027

Your ticket to two weeks of Thornton Park adventure! Pick up a Lulu Passport and explore participating Thornton Park businesses throughout the celebration, discovering special Lulu-themed items and experiences along the way.

Every qualifying stop earns you a Passport Stamp. EVERY STAMP = ONE RAFFLE ENTRY.

The more you explore Thornton Park, the more chances you have to win—and the more local businesses and local cats you help support.

EXPLORE passport stops throughout the neighborhood

HOWARD MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT ART SHOW & KICKOFF PARTY

We're kicking off Lulu's Birthday Celebration with one of our favorite family-friendly community collabs.

Students from Howard Middle School turn Lulu into original works of art for a special community exhibition. Meet the artists, view their work, celebrate their creativity, and officially kick off two weeks of Lulu festivities throughout Thornton Park.

In 2026: 22 Artists participated and 100% of their exhibited artwork sold!
